This awesome tee was made by the beloved Hawaii-based clothing brand, Poly Tees and it commemorates a sunrise run event that was held in conjunction with Hawaii Loa College in Kaneohe, Hawaii. There isn't a lot of information surrounding the details of this event, as Hawaii Loa was eventually merged into Hawaii Pacific University during the early 90s.
This shirt features a graphic of the defunct private college's former mascot, the mongoose. Mongooses are actually well-established animals among the Hawaiian Islands. Although, they are an invasive species that was brought over from India to protect the sugarcane crop from the rat population.
